“She owns the only restaurant. He’s the wisest man in The Village. Together, they make an unlikely and lovable pair. From the Audie Award nominated author of the National Jewish Book Award Finalist, Winter Blessings. Courtship, weddings and celebrations, stories of Rosh Hashanah, Chanukah, and Passover, and of course delicious food.”
Over the past few months, I’ve been quietly busy rebranding, recovering, renaming, reediting and rebooting a whole series of books under the pen name of Izzy Abrahmson.
“The Misadventures of Rabbi Kibbitz and Mrs. Chaipul”1 has just been reissued (today!) as …drumroll… A VILLAGE ROMANCE
These are some of my favorite stories from “The Village” woven into a novella. You’ll learn why the bride and groom are on the wedding cake, and find out why Mrs. Chaipul is and was (although not always) called Mrs. Chaipul. You’ll even learn Rabbi Kibbitz’s real name.
Now, you may be thinking - wha? A Jewish romance set in an Eastern European village? What about today’s problems?
That’s the whole point. This book will take you away from today’s problems and connect you with the things that are really important to us - our friends, families, communities, and the good food that we eat.
Ok, so how steamy is this so-called “romance”?
It’s 100% family friendly. I mean really, this is a story about a rabbi and a caterer who’ve known each other for decades and finally manage to get together. All of the steamy things are between the chapters. Your grandmother could read it and enjoy it. (Although who knows, she might’ve liked the steamy bits…)
And no, you don’t need to be Jewish to enjoy these books.
